"I HAVE NEVER LET MY SCHOOLING INTERFERE WITH MY EDUCATION." (Mark Twain)
MARIA VON EULER for Molami

Maria von Euler is perfect. She is ambitious, well educated, smart, self confident, humorous, super stylish and so beautiful. She used to be a successful journalist, worked in the food industry for 10 years and is now starting her new career developing and designing high quality headphones especially for women under a new brand called Molami.
I‘ve never met a woman who gets dressed so quickly and who perfoms so well in front of the camera.

MOLAMI  IS LAUNCHING IN BERLIN
December 1st 2011 from 7 pm to 9 pm
at Departmentstore - Cabinet, Friedrichstraße 71 10117 Berlin

“I LOVE YOU” readers are welcome to join the event.
The only thing you need to do is R.S.V.P. here.

“WE SIMPLY DON'T FEEL YOU REALLY WANT IT”
by MAHRET KUPKA

The boundaries between fashion and art - Considering the intersections is most definetly the best way to describe Mahret Kupka’s work.

The berlin-based freelance writer is well-known for a lot of profound essays about contemporary and essantial themes concerning art and fashion. Furthermore she ran over three years the blog fnart.org and started recently her new blog modekoerper.de. For our MAMA ISSUE she already supported us with a great text.

For our WRONG ISSUE Mahret Kupka analysed a gender discussion which is part of her dissertation which she is working on right now.

Some extracts of her essay:

[...] "The typical girl prefers the color pink, plays with dolls, has a knack for language, loves to communicate and gets poor marks in mathematics, whereas the typical boy likes blue, is comparatively taciturn and prefers to run around outside with his buddies. No, this is nothing new, but one might have hoped that since the women’s movement, these stereotypes would have changed, that today a girl would be able to climb trees without being considered a “tomboy”, but could simply be a girl who would rather climb trees than play with dolls; that the magazine Gala wouldn’t need to quote psychotherapists to certify that the behavior of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the daughter of Angelina and Brad who prefers sturdy boots, baggy pants and loose shirts with neckties to sundresses and ballet slippers, “is a very healthy activity for a little girl”; that a boy could also enjoy dressing up and playing with dolls without those around him drawing conclusions about his future sexual orientation." “Superstition is to religion what astrology is to astronomy:
the mad daughter of a wise mother” (Voltaire)

[...] Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,
Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past. [...]

(Stevie Wonder)

Stevie Wonder was singing about what drives us sometimes to insanity.
Superstions: “Sense or nonsense?”

Here are some of our favorites:

"SUPERSTITION IS FOOLISH, CHILDISH, PRIMITVE AND IRRATIONAL - BUT HOW MUCH DOES IT COST YOU TO KNOCK ON WOOD?" (Judith Viorst)

Superstition is a belief in a non-physical (i.e., supernatural) causality : that one event causes another without any physical process linking the two events.
Why do we believe that those not linked circumstances will decide our fate?

Touching wood to get or stay lucky, avoiding every black cat that crosses our way. There are tons of mysterious rules people do observe. It makes us feel kind of safe to live by following these individual things. It's a phenomenon. We sometimes hardly believe in the obvious but we do believe in those crazy, little rules thathat affect our

Superstitions have various birthplaces: some are cultural, some are passed on by family members or friends and others. The most funny ones I think–are the ones we invent ourselves, often subconsciously (... )

Actor and writer Gintare Parulyte collected some great examples for our WRONG ISSUE.

FREEDOM IS JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR NOTHING LEFT TO LOOSE" (Janis Joplin)

A friend of mine mentioned that she almost set her closet on fire because she was frustrated and couldn't find anything new to wear. What a relief to start over again. I long for this kind of new beginning every time the burden of responsibility fets too heavy. Michael Landy systematically catalogued each one of his more than 7227 personal posessions 2011 in his artwork "Break Down". I came across his work on tv at "ARTE" and I am very pleased we got the chance to talk to him about his work, consumer culture and material means of self-definition...

"I TOLD MY DENTIST MY TEETH ARE GOING YELLOW. HE TOLD ME TO WEAR A BROWN TIE."
(RODNEY DANGERFIELD)

My favourite dentist allowed us to do a jewellery shoot in his treatment room and have her assistant to get my teeth polished. And no, jewellery isn't something they usually wear during sessions.

See the result in I love you No. 7 "THE WRONG ISSUE" - out soon!
